Executive Officer

Aga Khan University

Working closely with the Director of the Networks of Quality, Teaching and Learning, manage and coordinate the networks to operate effectively and efficiently to service programme enhancement and faculty development. This position also works closely with Assistant Directors for Quality, Teaching and Learning and Blended and Digital Learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and administrative support to ensure the Networks of Quality, Teaching and Learning run smoothly and effectively
  • Manage Quality, Teaching and Learning databases and reporting systems, provide data and data return/reports,
  • Manage effective arrangements for programme and institutional reviews and accreditation as well as faculty educational development events
  • Monitor output from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, Commission for University Education (CUE), Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU), Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), and IUCEA and other relevant professional bodies and recommend and implement changes to regulations and procedures, where necessary, to ensure compliance with the relevant requirements. 
  • Act as executive secretary to relevant committees as determined by the Director
  • Support the Director in Budgeting and Strategic Planning for TL and QAI networks
  • Support the Director in budget preparation and budget tracking
  • Support the Directors and Assistant Directors in identifying possible funding streams for the network
  • Facilitate website development and updating as a hub for information for faculty on teaching, learning and quality areas 
  • Track traffic and trends to the website using google analytics
  • Manage and maintain the networks institutional partners

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with strong Administration experience, ideally in Academic Administration
  • Proven experience in project planning and management
  • Proven track record in a similar managerial/senior role
  • Substantial experience of administration and servicing committees, ideally in an academic environment
  • Experience of setting clear and effective aims and objectives against which work can be planned
  • Experience of proactively developing services and managing change to meet the needs of an organisation and/or students
  • Experience in website development
  • Excellent English communication and writing skills
  • Collaborative team player/excellent inter-personal skills
  • Responsible, reliable and efficient planning and follow-up
  • Ability to set priorities and work proactively in a fast paced team 
  • The ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and find solutions to problems
  • The ability to deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
