Human Resource Officer Job at Windle Trust

Windle Trust Kenya (WTK), a member of Windle International, is a non-profit organization with a mission to transform society through education and training.

 

We are currently working with the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) to implement the second phase of the Kenya Equity in Education Project (KEEP) which will improve transition, retention and performance of marginalized girls in primary and secondary school in refugee camps and surrounding host communities in northern Kenya.

KEEP is funded by the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID) under the Girls Education Challenge Fund.

Location: Nairobi
Contract term: Full-time, 1-year contract with possibility for extension

Responsibilities for the Human Resource Officer Job

  • The HRO supports the promotion of practices that lead to quality productivity and commitment to high performance culture and support the achievement of the organization.
  • Setting HR Strategies
  • Developing Policies, standards, and systems
  • Training and development
  • Recruitment and orientation of staff

Qualifications for the Human Resource Officer Job

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human resources or organization development with at least 3 years’ experience
  • Experience in the employment law and administration of benefits, compensation, and other HR remuneration
  • Skills in database management and record keeping
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold a high level of confidentiality
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills
  • Good computer skills in human resources information systems
  • Membership to the HR Professional practitioners body in Kenya
  • Ability to travel and work in unstable and frequently changing security environments
