POSITION : BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
DEPARTMENT : MARKETING
REPORTING : CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
 
Purpose of the job:  
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent will plan, develop and implement the Sacco’s business development and marketing strategies. He/she
will ensure the Sacco communicates its value proposition to retain and grow membership base while enhancing the Sacco’s standing among external stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities will include:  

•  Developing and implementing the Sacco’s marketing, business development and customer service strategy.
•  Setting, monitoring and delivering performance objectives and accountabilities for the marketing team in alignment with the Sacco’s strategy.
•  Ensuring that the marketing team is delivering on the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
•  Identify and activate business opportunities to maintain and expand the membership base.
•  Defining and monitoring customer experience within the Sacco and provide feedback to management with recommendations for improvement opportunities.
•  Research and understand trends and developments in the Financial services industry so as to identify opportunities for the Sacco growth.
•  Create, Implement and manage the Sacco brand strategy.
•  Develop and implement the Sacco’s Business Plan  
•  Create awareness on new and existing products to existing and potential members.
•  Product development and review.
•  Ensure high level of member service to increase members loyalty and retention.
•  Be the driving force in the development of the work ethic, culture and values of the sales and business development group. Through personal example,establish the style and approach which will characterize the Sacco’s dealings with the market place
• Overseeing the development of marketing literature
•  Developing and implementing a Corporate Social Responsibility programme
• for the Sacco.

Key qualifications, knowledge and experience required:

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business development related field.
• MBA or HND in Sales and Marketing will be an added advantage
•  Membership to a professional body in a related field.
•  Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior management position in a
• Financial Institution.
•  Experience in and Knowledge of Deposit Taking Sacco’s will be an added
• advantage
• A proven ability to plan, develop and execute business development
• strategies.
•  High degree of professionalism and integrity.
• Advanced written and oral communication skills.
