DRR COORDINATOR

Diakonie Emergency Aid (DKH) — Regional Office Nairobi seeks to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the following position: DRR COORDINATOR
 

Reporting to the Regional Director

 Her/his duties will include to:

 • Responsible for Design and Coordination of DRR Programs under the Regional Office

• Oversee formulation of DRR program proposals and reports by implementing partners

• Support DKH staff and partners in Assessments, POMs and Capacity Building on DRR Programing

• Oversee DRR Program Monitoring and Evaluation, ensuring that quality standards are maintained

• Evaluate and propose suggestions for new DRR approaches in the region

 • Promote DRR learning in partner organizations and in DKH

• Participate in DKH strategy planning for the Region

• Represent DKH at meetings and coordinate with other Humanitarian Actors in the region

 • Management of staff at project level in close collaboration with the Regional Director may be required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 

Masters Degree preferably in social sciences such as Community Development, Economics or related field.

 • At least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of Humanitarian Programs in the Region and relevant advocacy programmes in disaster risk reduction, emergency response and post-disaster recovery

• In-depth knowledge of the Program Management Cycle and Program Development

• Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports

• Knowledge of the ACT Alliance mechanisms and ecumenical organization structures is an added advantage

• Strong training & facilitation skills

 • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work with limited supervision,pro-active and a good team-player
