General Manager (GM)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated person to fill the position of General Manager (GM). Job Description Seriani Asset Managers Limited (Seriani) is limited liability Company incorporated in Nairobi Kenya and a licensed Fund Manager by Capital Market Authority (CMA). He or She will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's vision by ensuring that the appropriate program design and support mechanisms are in place while providing direction, energy and commitment to advancing the company and its business model. Responsibilities:
• Strategic Reporting The GM is responsible for ensuring that the Board of Directors have all the information to effectively exercise its responsibilities. He/she reports to the Board, on all relevant information regarding the company's operations and recommends courses of action to the Board for its consideration
• Strategic Planning - Collaborating with appropriate stakeholders, the GM formulates policies and proposed actions for the Firm and present to the Board for approval, the long-term plan, strategies and policies that lend to the creation of value for the firm
• Human Resource/Corporate Organization - The GM develops and maintains on effective and innovative organizational structure based on achieving performance objectives that reflect industry, market and company requirements
• Operations - The GM identifies opportunities and proposes new methods of improving existing operations with a focus on profitability. He should be flexible enough to adopt new approaches to conduct business, necessary to drive growth, reporting and communications - The GM is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with all stakeholders - external and internal, as well as being the principal spokesperson for the organization
• Risk and Legal compliance - The GM is responsible for establishing internal risk and compliance systems and procedures, appropriate for the company and the portfolios under management.
Qualifications:
• 8+ years of strong operational experience, preferably having worked in o senior management role in a financial institution,
• A Bachelor's Degree in Business. Finance or o related Field is preferred Professional qualifications such as CFA is an added advantage,
